I Heart Adam…

Look #1: Begonia Silk Pant, Black Chiffon Menswear Shirt, and Night Quilted Leather Jacket It's a bit much for daytime in D.C., but the individual pieces are gorgeous and could be paired with more classic, plain items. Or, wear 'em together for a night at Tattoo!

…Adam Lippes, that is. His Fall 2009 collection is unique yet totally wearable, and once I got in the show, a great start to Fashion Week.

After spending 15 minutes trying to find the press pass booth (and passing it about three times in the meantime), I ran into the tents a few minutes before the scheduled showtime. Though my name wasn’t on the list–and yes, I did RSVP because my RSVP is still in my Sent Mail–I was able to squeeze in. Sometimes it pays to not be pushy at Fashion Week, because I was grabbed by a PR girl and sent to…the front row, with a dozen people between me and Erin and Samantha from The City. Erin, by the way, was in hot pink, and I think I might get her bangs next time I get a haircut.

The collection is inspired by Japanese photographs of cherry blossoms, Samurai warriors, and geishas. The Japanese influence is quite clear in a dress adorned with cherry blossoms, cropped pleated silk trousers, and the most vibrant shades of fuchsia, vermilion, and hot begonia pink. He accessorized his beautiful looks with perfect Christian Louboutin suede platform peeptoe heels and booties in shades of pink, purple, and blue. (Like I need to have yet another reason to covet Louboutins.) I own one Adam item, a purplish-pink chiffon shift with a ruffle neck (see my blog profile photo!), and I have a feeling I’ll be adding at least one more Adam piece to my wardrobe come fall. Though I have a crush on the begonia wool coat, I seriously love the silk cropped trousers. Maybe in fuchsia? Major fall trend alert!

Here is part of the finale from my front-row seat. It’s like you were there with me!

And since I was in the front row, I didn’t even have to swipe the swag–I got my own! It’s a gray t-shirt that says “Love Is Blind.”

Now I need to go DEVOUR a deli sandwich…

Look #1: Begonia Silk Pant, Black Chiffon Menswear Shirt, and Night Quilted Leather Jacket
It’s a bit much for daytime in D.C., but the individual pieces are gorgeous and could be paired with more classic, plain items. Or, wear ’em together for a night at Tattoo!

Look #6: Milk Wool Jersey Dress and Begonia Wool Coat
I’m in love! Can I justify a new winter coat next year? I’d wear the entire outfit.

Look #32: Topaz Satin Crepe Deep Pleated Pant, Milk Cashmere V-Neck Sweater, and Milk Wool Menswear Jacket
You don’t think of blue silk pants as D.C.-appropriate officewear, but when paired with the sweater and blazer, it looks rather professional yet still chic.
